How Long have you lived in Osceola County?
13 Years

What is your history of community service?
I have always been very involved in the community, with the school district and my three children. The youngest of which is still in the school system. I sit on a number of boards and committees. You are, as a community exactly what you give and put into it. I believe in this community.

Why are in you seeking this office?
I believe in education and our future. Our future is in fact our children and their education or lack there of. At the end of the day it is all about education, motivation of our children and retaining good teachers.

What makes you the best-qualified candidate?
I am and always have been a very active parent and business partner. I have three children two of which are very succcessful and have been through our school system. My youngest is still in the system and very successful as well. I see things from a parent, mother, business and female perspective. I belive in the district and our children and I know if we rally the forces and unite we will have a solid school district and successful children. I do not jump to conclusions but research and let the facts guide us in the proper direction.

Current or former elected official you most admire and why?
Linda Goodwin - She has motivation, drive and integrity and she sees the big picture. She is a team player and helps others to see both sides. She has patience and will share her knowledge and experience. She is my idea of a very successful down to earth person

If additional revenue becomes available where would you spend it?
Teacher retention, pay increases and after school programs. To have a quality school system you need quality teachers, you also need to have programs to assist our children. We need to have fewer latch key children and more after school supervised educational programs for them.

If revenue falls short, what are the areas you would target for cuts?
We would need to look at the overhead at that point in time and see what positions or areas could be trimed or cut.. Again this would take a better understanding of how and why we currently spend and allocate as we do. This knowledge base takes time and research not a rush to judgement.

Under what circumstances would you raise taxes?
At this point I really can not answer that question. I need to learn more about where and how our current dollars are managed, spent and allocated.

Rate the job performance of the Superintendent.
At this point I can not do that. How can I review someone that does not work for me. My evaluation today would be biased by media and current board members. I am very sure that after three to six months as a school board member with a direct link I will be able to provide a fair evaluation.

What is the top issue facing Osceola County Schools?
Teacher retention and parental involvement. We need to retain quality teachers and we need to get our parents involved with the schools and the children
