City of Kissimmee Planning Board 9 years, MetroPlan Citizens Advisory Board,TriCounty League of Cities, MetroPlan Orlando, Auxilliary Reserve Deputy Sheriff 14+ years, Youth Sports Coach-football,baseball, softball, YMCA Board of Directors, Osceola County Council on Aging Board, Osceola County Lake Advisory Board, Active Member First Baptist Church Kissimmee.
Why are in you seeking this office?
To bring to the County the success I have had as a City Commissioner. During my tenure, I observed that many issues Kissimmee considered, transcended the City limits into the County. I would like the opportunity to help resolve those issues in the County,improving the entire community.
What makes you the best-qualified candidate?
Experience and desire to change Osceola County for the better. I have invested 48 years as a citizen of Osceola County, volunteering and owning a business.
Current or former elected official you most admire and why?
Dr George Gant MD: he is a genuine person, giving many years of service to the County in several aspects. He is a person of conviction who looks forward to the future and looks for the good in everyone.
If additional revenue becomes available where would you spend it?
I would create a fund to give taxpayers relief , invest in infrastructure and public safety.
If revenue falls short, what are the areas you would target for cuts?
I would cut Non-essential services. I would not cut essential services like garbage pickup, utility delivery, public safety and transportation,
Under what circumstances would you raise taxes?
There is no reason to raise taxes. We are smarter and more creative than that. There is always another solution.
What is the top issue facing Oceola County?
Growth and funding for transportation.
What does Osceola County government do well?
Osceola County Fire Department EMS , Public Library System and a positive attitude toward Public Transit
What does Osceola County government do poorly?
I would'nt say that it is poor,but intergovernmental relationships could be improved along with future growth and transportation planning.
Rate the job performance of the County Manager.
I am told he meets the expectations of the current Commission.
How would you help businesses in Osceola County?
Improving access to businesses (roads). Give more incentives for good, high paying jobs to relocate to the county.
