About Us...

The Small Business Council is longest existing council of the Chamber. The SBC oversees a major part of the Chamber's daily programs such as LEADS and Ambassadors. The Council also focuses on Education for small, large & home based businesses through trainings and seminars. The SBC develops and implements programs that encourage networking and interaction among fellow Chamber members and potential Chamber members.

Membership

Any person, firm, association, corporation, partnership or entity who is a member in good standing with the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce and who expresses interest consistent with the above objectives shall be eligible for membership in the Council. Membership is not restricted.

Ruth Newland A 20-year resident of Osceola County, Ruth is very active in the community and proud to be a Chamber Ambassador. Ruth is the Director of Community Relations for Avante at St. Cloud. Avante is a skilled nursing facility in business since 1989 that provides not only long-term care but also short term rehab. Ruth says, "Being an Ambassador has given her the privilege to meet many of Osceola County's business owners and become involved in the community."

Al Valentino , Owner 27 Blake Blvd., Celebration, FL 34747 The Barber and Beauty Emporium is an eight-station hair salon with a large retail store, which carries professional beauty products. They supply these products to both retail and wholesale markets, both locally and internationally. The salon treats each customer like they are a good friend with the hope that it is a welcoming place that they will return to on a regular basis. They have been successfully running a guest pickup service for people who are unable to drive due to age or health. Named as the 2007 Top Hair Salon by the WESH News and Cityvoter.com, The Beauty and Barber Emporium also dedicates a great portion of time to the community. They work with a local group to fill food pantries, raising over three tons of food thus far.

David Leather - Owner 2180 Emperor Dr., Kissimmee, FL 34744 Hayes Vacation Home Rentals is a vacation home management company that has grown from nine homes in 2001 to 40 homes and approximately 160 bedrooms at the present date. Hayes Vacation Home Rentals was the first company to receive the Seal of Compliance from the Polk County Tax Collector. They are constantly receiving compliments and praise from guests on their efficiency and cleanliness of the homes. David Leather has served as the President of the Central Florida Professional Management Association for the past 2 years and is also an active board member with the Small Business and Four Corners Councils of the Chamber.
